2degrees Business Phone Services Terms and Conditions

  1. If you have added a phone line to your 2degrees Business Broadband Plan (Business Phone Services), these terms apply to you.
  2. The Business Broadband Terms and Conditions and Business Broadband Plan Terms and Conditions apply in addition to these terms and conditions. For the purposes of these terms and conditions, Business Phone Services are Add-On Services. These terms will prevail if there are any inconsistencies.
  3. Unless stated otherwise, capitalised terms used in these terms have the same meaning given to them in the 2degrees Business Broadband Terms and Conditions.
  4. All specific rates detailed in these terms exclude GST (unless stated otherwise), and are subject to change.

Smart Phone Line

  1. Smart Phone Line is only available to you if your 2degrees business broadband is provided over ADSL2+, VDSL or Fibre.

^ If you have a Smart Phone line on an ADSL2+ or VDSL connection, and you later add a Basic Phone Line, the Basic Phone Line will register as the first phone line, and you will be charged for the Smart Phone Line as an additional phone line.

  1. You can have a maximum of three Smart Phone lines per plan.
  2. If you add a Smart Phone Line during your Billing period it will be pro-rated and charged at your next Billing Date.
  3. Smart Phone Line needs power to work. If you have a power outage, you will not be able to use your Smart Phone Line, which means you will not be able to make calls to emergency services.
  4. Smart Phone Line cannot support all types of the following products:
    1. Fax machines and faxes;
    2. Monitored home or medical alarms; and
    3. Pay TV boxes.

    You should check with your provider of any of these services (or any other analogue services that rely on a copper phone line) to ensure that Smart Phone Line will work with these.

  5. Standard rates will apply if you use call manager services to divert or transfer your calls to another mobile or landline phone number.  Details of standard rates can be found in the Business Broadband Phone Standard Rates Terms and Conditions.  

Basic Phone Line

  1. If a Smart Phone Line is not available to you, or you wish to maintain a traditional fixed-line telephone service, you may add our Basic Phone Line service to your 2degrees Plan.

12. A $99 connection change fee applies if you add a Basic Phone Line to a Fibre Connection. Non-standard installations may require additional charges. Wherever possible, we will let you know such costs before commencing any such work.

13. If you add a Basic Phone Line during your Billing period it will be pro-rated and charged at your next Billing Date.

14. You can add the following optional calling features to your Basic Phone Line for an additional monthly fee (Business Calling Features):

15. If you add any Business Calling Features during your Billing period they will be pro-rated and charged at your next Billing Date.

Business Phone Line Add-Ons

16. If you have a Smart Phone Line or Basic Phone Line, you can choose to add the following services (Business Phone Line Add-On), for an additional monthly fee:

17. If you add Unlimited* NZ Landline and Mobiles and/or Unlimited* Aussie Landlines and Mobiles they will be pro-rated and charged at your next Billing Date.

18. With Unlimited* NZ Landlines and Mobiles, direct dial calls made from your phone line to standard landlines and mobiles in New Zealand are included.  Any special chargeable calls are excluded, e.g. calling cards and premium numbers, 0900 (and any international equivalent), 059, 0161.  Our Fair Use Policy applies to this service.  

19. With Unlimited* Aussie Landlines and Mobiles, direct dial calls made from your phone line to standard landlines and mobiles in Australia are included.  Any special chargeable calls are excluded, e.g. calling cards and premium numbers, 0900 (and any international equivalent), 059, 0161.  Our Fair Use Policy applies to this service. 

20. For all other calls made from your phone not covered by Unlimited* NZ Landlines and Mobiles or Unlimited* Aussie Landlines and Mobiles, our Business Broadband Phone Standard Rates will apply.

Phone Numbers

21. Any phone number(s) you are allocated will not be your property.

22. We may need to change the phone number you are allocated and will notify you in accordance with our Business Broadband Terms and Conditions, if we need to do so.  We will not be liable for any costs which you or anyone else may incur as a result of such a change.

23. We will not arrange for your phone number to appear in a telephone or similar directory unless you advise us to do so.  

Termination

24. Business Phone Line Services are only available to 2degrees customers. If you terminate your Plan and move to another broadband provider, you will no longer be eligible to use 2degrees Business Phone Line Services.

25. If your Business Phone Line Services are ported to another provider, your Plan (and any other Add-On Services not added to your Business Phone Line Services) will continue until terminated by you.

26. You can terminate your Business Phone Line Services, including any optional Business Calling Features or Business Phone Line Add-Ons, at any time prior to your next Billing Date by emailing us at biz.BBsupport@2degreesbroadband.co.nz or by calling us on 0800 022 249.  Unless stated otherwise, you will still be liable for any Charges incurred prior to that Billing Date.

27. If you terminate any Smart Phone Line(s), Basic Phone Line(s), and/or Business Calling Features your monthly charges for these Services will be pro-rated and any credit from the existing monthly Charge will be offset against any outstanding Charges at the next Billing Date.

28. If you terminate any Business Phone Line Add-Ons, it will take effect on the Billing Date following your request and you will be responsible for Charges until that date. However, if you request to terminate it on your Billing Date, it will be removed on the following Billing Date.

29. We can suspend and/or terminate our Agreement or your Business Phone Line Services immediately without notifying you if you continue to use the Business Phone Line Services in breach of our Fair Use Policy after we have asked you to stop.
