Prepay Monthly Top Up Terms and Conditions
-
Interpretation
-
These Terms and Conditions are subject to the Prepay Terms and Conditions and unless otherwise stated any capitalised terms not defined herein have the same meaning given to them in the Prepay Terms and Conditions.
-
In these terms and conditions:
-
“MATU Day” means the day of the month (for example the ‘4th day’ or the ‘last day’) that you have selected for your Prepay Account and any Nominated Accounts to be topped up using the MATU Service.
-
“MATU Service” means the Monthly Auto Top Up service made available by us and/or our agents to you as described below and on our website.
-
‘”Nominated Account” means a Prepay Account, other than your own Prepay Account, that you have registered to be topped up using the MATU Service.
-
-
MATU Service
-
If you select the MATU Service we will make an automatic Payment (top up) to your Prepay Account and/or any Nominated Account/s on a monthly basis on a day specified by you charged to the credit or Visa-debit card authorised by you.
-
You can top up a maximum of 15 Nominated Accounts (including your own Prepay Account) using the MATU service.
-
You can top up each Prepay Account once per calendar month for a minimum of $20 and a maximum of $100 per Payment.
-
-
Charges
There are no charges for setting up, using or ending the MATU Service. -
Payments
-
You authorise us to process the Payment(s) to your Prepay Account and/or any Nominated Accounts that you have registered for the MATU Service on your MATU Date.
-
We will send you a text message each month confirming that the Payments authorised by you have been made. We will also send a text message to each Nominated Account confirming that a Payment to that account has been made.
-
If you are utilising the maximum number of Nominated Accounts to the maximum top up amount each month you must not make any other Payments (top ups) to a Nominated Account using your registered credit or Visa-debit card on the MATU Day or the monthly automatic top up will not be processed.
-
The maximum amount of Payments (i.e. total automatic and any other top-ups) which may be charged to any one credit or Visa-debit card per month is $3,000.
-
You are responsible for making sure the credit or Visa-debit card you register for the MATU Service is current and has sufficient credit available to make the Payments you authorise.
-
If you authorise a Payment and it is declined by your card company or bank, or we do not receive a Payment for any reason, we will do our best to send you a text message and/or email telling you that. However, we will not be liable to you in any way if we do not receive a Payment.

Changing your MATU Service
You can change the MATU Service options at anytime online through Your 2degrees other than on the day any Payment due that month is to be processed (i.e. you cannot change your options on your MATU Day). -
Ending the MATU Service
-
You can end the MATU Service online through Your 2degrees or by calling Customer Care (200) from your mobile phone or 0800 022 022 from any New Zealand phone.
- We cannot guarantee that any requests to end the MATU Service on the MATU Day will occur on the same day, so we recommend making a request at least a day before the MATU Day.
- If you change your Mobile Phone Number to another 2degrees Mobile Phone Number, the MATU Service will continue working on your new 2degrees Mobile Phone Number and any Nominated Accounts. If you transfer your Mobile Phone Number from 2degrees to another mobile network (Port), the MATU Service will end automatically for your Prepay Account and all Nominated Accounts.
-
If you ask us to suspend your Prepay Account (because for example your phone is lost or stolen) the MATU Service will also be suspended. If you ask us to remove the suspension on your Prepay Account this will also remove the suspension on the MATU Service.
