Data Piñata Promotion Terms and Conditions
- These terms and conditions apply (in addition to the 2degrees Prepay Terms and Conditions, Pay Monthly Terms and Conditions, and Data Clock Terms and Conditions and any other applicable terms and conditions) to Two Degrees Mobile Limited’s (2degrees) Data Piñata promotion (Data Piñata).
- This Promotion commences at 12:00am on 30 October 2023 and ends at 11:59pm on 29 February 2024 (Data Piñata Period).
- Data Piñata is free to play but you will need an active 2degrees consumer mobile plan at the time you win a Data Prize or Non-Data Prize to claim that Prize. Plans with unlimited max speed data are only eligible for Non-Data Prizes. Some Data Piñatas are only available to whack at a specific location or at a specific time.
- If during the Data Piñata Period you:
- a. have an active 2degrees consumer mobile plan;
- b. follow those steps set out in paragraph 5 below;
- c. Play Data Piñata available at datapinata.nz, you will be eligible to win:
- your random share of 800 years of data (Data Prize) (redeemable in the Data Clock); or
- a limited number of non-data prizes for some lucky players (Non-Data Prize) (customers may only win one Non-Data prize during the Data Piñata Period as we want to keep if fair for all eligible players); and
- a bonus Data Prize of 1 week of data (redeemable in the Data Clock) if you collect all 19 of the Data Piñata’s in the Data Piñata Armada collection (Data Piñata Armada Collection) (excludes three Bonus Piñatas which are not included in the Data Piñata Armada Collection).
- To play Data Piñata you will need to:
- a. go to datapinata.nz;
- b. enter and confirm your 2degrees mobile number or play as a guest;
- c. enter the 6 digit authentication code sent to you by 2degrees;
- d. allow applicable permissions on your device so you can play the Data Piñata; and
- e. find and whack a Data Piñata to win a Data Prize or a Non-Data Prize– 2easy!
- Once you have successfully whacked a Data Piñata you will need to go to the 2degrees Data Clock app to redeem your Data Prize. If you do not already have the Data Clock app, you will need to download it. You will need to make sure you have the latest version of the Data Clock app in order to redeem your Data Prize. In most cases, the Data Prize will be showing in the Data Clock app as soon as it is won, but in some cases may take up to 36 hours from winning your Data Prize.
- You have 48 hours from either winning your Data Prize or your Data Prize showing in the Data Clock app (whichever is sooner) to begin using your Data Prize. Your Data Prize immediately expires after this 48 hour period and you will not be able to use it.
- The full augmented reality experience of Data Piñata will only be available on selected devices which have sufficient camera quality and processing speeds. For devices which are not sufficient, Data Piñata will just automatically go to Data Prize confirmation. For devices which are sufficient, you will still need to allow applicable permissions in order to have the full augmented reality experience.
- If you do not have a an active 2degrees consumer plan, you can still play Data Piñata, but you will not be eligible for a Data Prize or Non-Data Prize until you meet those requirements set out in paragraph 4 above. Any Data Prize or Non-Data Prize shown as a potential win or a win prior to meeting those requirements set out in paragraph 4 above will not be eligible for redemption.
- You may only play once per day and win a maximum of one Data Prize or Non-Data Prize per day, per customer.
- To claim your Non-Data Prize go to 2dredeem.co.nz/datapinata and enter the redemption code that was sent to your mobile. You must redeem your Non-Data Prize by 14 March 2024 or it will be forfeited. Your Non-Data Prize may take up to 21 business days to be shipped to the address provided – no PO Boxes.
- Each Prize:
- a. can only be used in New Zealand;
- b. in the case of a Data Prize, is a one-off continuous data session;
- c. is not transferrable or exchangeable; and
- d. cannot be taken as cash or any other form of value.
- 2degrees’ Fair Use Policy applies to each Data Prize. Max speeds will reduce to 1mbps after 40GB/m, per person. At reduced speeds, your experience will be impacted.
- 2degrees reserves the right to cancel or amend Data Piñata at any time.
- You are deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions at the time in which you play Data Piñata.
- Our Privacy Policy applies to any personal information collected for the purposes of Data Piñata.
