Autopay is the simplest way to pay for your Prepay plan & Add-ons

What is Autopay?

Autopay is a handy way to take care of your monthly Prepay plans and Add-ons by charging them directly to the credit or debit card of your choice.

Simply set it up, turn it on and your Prepay plans and Add-ons will be automatically paid straight from your chosen card when they renew. It’s one less thing to worry about – you’re welcome.

Who is Autopay for?

Autopay is for anyone starting or renewing any of our current Prepay plans or Add-ons.

How do I turn off Autopay?

If you’re changing plan or it’s time to move on, don’t worry, you can turn Autopay off in the 2degrees app or My 2degrees.

Turn off Autopay in the App

  • Open the App
  • Tap on the Menu button
  • Tap on Account settings
  • Tap on the Turn off Autopay button
  • That’s it, we’ve turned it off

Turn off Autopay in My 2degrees

  • Log in to My 2degrees
  • Head to the Top Up page
  • Go to the Manage Payment Options page
  • Then click the Turn off button in the Autopay section of Your Payment Methods
  • That’s it, we’ve turned it off

You can turn Autopay on again any time you like, but you’ll need to set it up again.

What happens to Autopay if my card declines?

If your card declines for whatever reason and we can’t renew your Prepay plan or Add-on, we’ll try again using a different payment method, like your phone credit or Prepay Pack Assist.

We’ll keep you in the loop by text, so you know what’s going on.

Will my Prepay plan and Add-ons renew at the same time?

Your Prepay plan and Add-ons will continue to renew on the same dates as they did before you turned on Autopay. That means if your Prepay plan renews on the 18th, and your Add-on renews on the 22nd, they’ll keep renewing on these dates as per usual.

Can I have Autopay for my Prepay Plan but not my Add-on?

If you have Autopay turned on and have an Add-on, both your Prepay plan and your Add-on will renew via Autopay. That way you won’t be in a bind when your Prepay plan renews but you forget to renew your 1GB NZ Data Add-on.

Can I use my Prepay credit to buy an Add-on if I’ve got Autopay turned on?

We like to keep things simple, so if you’ve got Autopay turned on, we’ll use it for all your Prepay Add-on purchases and renewals. If you want to use the credit on your phone, just pop in to My 2degrees or the 2degrees App and turn off Autopay. Then you can use the balance on your phone to buy an Add-on. If you want to use Autopay for your renewals, you’ll just need to pop back in afterwards and turn it on again.

Can I set up Autopay with a bank account?

No, Autopay must be set up with a credit or debit card.

Can I use Autopay to pay for Data Clock?

No, Autopay cannot be used for Data Clock, it must be used for an eligible Prepay plan or Add on.
